ORPHANS FEEDING PROJECT.

We have two new groups, CIF and Nyusa farmers.  These have replaced Khuyala and Namulekwa which are no longer functioning well because of local management problems.  These two groups will be allowed back on the programme if they sort out leadership.  The new groups were very keen to join as can be seen with the long line of children who turned up for the meal at CIF.

KITCHEN GARDENS

Several OVC groups have got started with their kitchen gardens.  Lonely Orphans have obtained a plot with drainage ditches and have planted a variety of vegetables, many of gthem indigenous.  These are used to feed the children at the school and any surplus is sold at  the local market to raise funds for the group. The picture below shows one of their crops.

MEETING FRIENDS

We met up with Birunda Friends and included them in our latest tree planting project.  They had a very successful tree nursery with a variety of species which they were preparing to plant out once the rains were established.
